The ARK program was developed in response to the needs of Aboriginal students experiencing reading problems. The program has been extensively trialled and is now being used successfully with Aboriginal students, remedial reading students, students with English as a second language, students with learning difficulties and adults learning to read or improve their reading skills. 

Demon Words covers words that many students find difficult. They are difficult to remember, read and spell, but as they occur frequently in print it is essentialto learn them. The words can be treated using a multi-sensory approach and these pages can be used successfully with all students. As all the pages are fully reproducible each student's personal spelling difficulties can be addressed. 

Demon words is part of a complete program that progresses from simple 3-letter words through to complex, multi-syllable words. This Writing Words part of the kit is balanced by games, stories and student's personal news as described in The ARK Teacher's Manual. 

All pages can be used in the following way:

1. Colour the outline letters.
2. Copy each word.
3. Fill in the missing letters. 
4. Complete the sentences.
